Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Arts and Science (JNIAS) is a private liberal arts and science college in the high ranges of Idukki, Kerala, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. It was founded in 2015 by the People Educational & Welfare Trust to bring quality education closer to the region’s students, combining the best of the arts with career-oriented professional programmes
Since its establishment, the institute has grown from a small academic community into a vibrant centre for higher education, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across diverse areas of study. The institution focuses on academic excellence, career development, skill enhancement, and the overall personality development of students.
What began with a handful of faculty and staff has grown into a thriving centre of higher education, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from media arts to food sciences. In a short span, JNIAS students have secured several university ranks, a sign of the institution’s steady commitment to excellence. JNIAS was founded by the People Educational & Welfare Trust to bridge the gap in quality higher education across the high ranges. Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, the college gives students from Idukki and beyond the chance to earn a respected degree in a calm, scenic, and safe setting, without leaving the region to find it.
Choose from Honours programmes in Food Technology, Microbiology, Cyber Forensics, Forensic Science, Computer Applications (AICTE-approved), Management, Commerce, Multimedia, Visual Communication, and Animation & Graphic Design, along with a postgraduate programme in Food Technology and Quality Assurance. Add-on courses build practical, job-ready skills alongside your degree.
